Welcome to the Children's Ministry page for Western Heights Baptist Church! Here at WHBC, we want every visitor, guest, and member to feel welcomed and ministered to, from our most honored senior adults to our youngest nursery babies! We have several exciting programs designed especially for our preschoolers, children, and preteens, including Sunday school, Missions Emphasis on Wednesday nights, AWANA Clubs on Sunday evenings, and special events throughout the calendar year. We look forward to partnering with you as you share the love of Christ with your child!

Sunday School -- Starting each Sunday morning at 9:30am, our children gather for age appropriate classes (preschool, kindergarten, first-third grades, and fourth-sixth grades) for Bible study and activities.  We're using a Faith Weaver curriculum that takes our children through a chronological journey of the Bible.  (Our nursery babies also have a Sunday school program where they enjoy music, stories, and playtime.)

Sunday Night -- On Sunday evenings at 5:00pm, children ages two and up are invited to participate in AWANA clubs!  AWANA is a program that equips parents to teach Scripture memory at home and partners with parents each week to reward children's progress and supplement that progress with Bible teaching, fellowship with other children, and club activities.

Wednesday Night -- On Wednesday night, our children have the opportunity to learn about missions endeavors in our country and throughout the world.  They learn Bible stories, hear about other cultures, find out more about missionaries around the world, and have the opportunity to make a craft.

Children of all ages are invited to participate in the Sunday morning worship with the adults.  We believe that even the youngest members of our church family are foundational to who we are as the body of Christ, and we welcome their involvement in this central part of worship.  To assist parents with leading and teaching their children during this time, our church provides children's bulletins which can be found alongside the regular Sunday morning bulletins on the back table in the sanctuary.  (Nursery care is available during this hour for those who are three years old and younger.)
